New Canon ImagePRESS

C&K Printing is excited to announce the newest addition to its production arsenal. July has seen the purchase of a brand new, state-of-the-art Canon ImagePRESS C1 Digital Print System.

The C1 was designed for customers who are looking for short-run color jobs. This system provides outstanding image quality almost identical to traditional offset presses and remarkably consistent color that won't change during any size run, be it for one or one thousand. The C1 is also designed to work with almost any media type. Whether you need text or cover, smooth or textured, matte or gloss, this machine can do it.

C&K Printing welcomes anyone who would like to see the new Canon ImagePRESS C1 in operation to stop by our location and see that it's perfect for your next full-color job. We're positive you won't be disappointed.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE:

Since its inception, C&K Printing has grown steadily. The solitary printing press that had started the business has been replaced by five two-color presses. In 1987, a Macintosh computer was purchased to include what was then cutting-edge Desktop Publishing in the company's list of services. Now powered by three Macintosh G4s and one Windows PC platform, the company offers full Graphic Design services to its customers.

In November of 2000, C&K Printing purchased a Heidelberg QS-460 Imagestter. This powerful piece of technology is able to print digital files directly onto polyester press plates, enabling us to send complex jobs to press in a matter of minutes. This has streamlined our pre-press department to the point that we no longer require a darkroom or expensive film and metal plates.

During the summer of 2002, to accomodate our customers’ needs for quick-run full color, a digital color printer was added. This versatile machine is able to create high quality reproductions directly from its image glass, as well as output files sent from one of our design computers.

In 2004 a Ryobi 3302M joined the roster of offset presses. This true two color press allows for registration precise enough to produce true four-color process printing.

Our most recent pieces of technology were added in the fall of 2007. Foremost is a HP Designjet Z6100ps, a large format full color printer capable of producing images 42" wide and of any length. This machine is also able to print on several different types of material, including scrim vinyl. To accompany the HP we purchased a Seal wide format laminator. The laminator can encapsulate or mount any of the jobs printed from the HP, protecting them from scratching, fading, dust and other damage.
